Englewood After School Program Director Deputy Kevin Sugg & PAL students

The Police Athletic League of Sarasota County was founded in 1988 to help address the explosive needs of our fast growing community.  Today we serve over 1,200 young people with innovative programs designed to address their complex world.

The critical period of time between the end of school and parents coming home from work is a major focus for PAL programs.  We know that unsupervised young people are a major risk group.  Statistics have shown that 37% of juvenile crime in Sarasota County occurs during these hours.

PAL currently operates an affordable after school program at Englewood Recreation Center.  This location is supervised by Deputies of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office and provides the following: homework assistance, tutoring, arts & crafts, music instruction, and sports activities.
